The members of the Mikkelsen Library staff and faculty library committee regularly engage in strategic conversations resulting in a strategic plan for the library. The library last articulated a comprehensive strategic plan in 2007, supported by a previous strategic plan (2000), space utilization plan (1997), staffing plan (1998), and an earlier strategic plan (1994).  During the summer of 2010 the librarians reviewed the 2007 strategic plan to formally identify outcomes and to begin the process of creating a new strategic plan by January 2011 in cooperation with the faculty library committee.
