As part of Mikkelsen Library, the Interlibrary Loan Department works to facilitate and support the teaching, learning, and scholarship of Augustana University and Sioux Falls Seminary students, faculty and staff. Faculty can place ILL orders by using the Interlibrary Loan link found in the library catalog and many of the library's electronic databases/resources. Users can send an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org, or call the library at 605.274.4921. Printouts of items needed are also accepted at the Circulation Desk. The patron’s name and email or phone should be printed clearly on each printout.
Most articles will be delivered electronically to the faculty's e-mail address. Books and media will be delivered to the faculty's building.
If you have questions regarding library services and/or resources, please feel free to contact your departmental liaison.
The Augustana library plays a critical role in supporting and encouraging the learning process and promoting information literacy. Students and faculty are faced with an information environment that continues to increase in quantity and complexity. We believe that in an information rich, democratic society the leaders of the future must be able to use information effectively and ethically. The library’s program of information literacy focuses on librarians collaborating with faculty to ensure that students know how to locate, evaluate, synthesize and utilize information, regardless of format. Instruction ranges from a single visit to an integrated, series of visits to support student learning and resesarch. To schedule a librarian visit, contact Lisa Brunick or your departmental liaison.
Audio-visual equipment is available for use by Augustana faculty & staff. Call Media Services (605.274.4920) to schedule delivery and pick-up of A-V equipment to your office or classroom. Media Services staff will deliver DVDs, CDs and other media available at Mikkelsen Library, to your mailbox, office or classroom. Call Media Services (605.274.4920) to reserve and schedule delivery of videos or other media.
Media Services staff can off-air record broadcast programming onto VHS or DVD video. Contact Kelsey Bulock(605.274.4920) to arrange to have the program recorded. These off-air recordings may be used in the classroom for a limited time, but should be considered evaluation copies only. If the program is something you will use in class, or you think would be a good addition to the library collection, call or email Craig Johnson (605.274.4382) to request purchase.
Mikkelsen Express is a delivery service available to faculty and staff only. Use the Mikkelsen Express form to request material available from the Mikkelsen Library collections. It will be delivered to your academic building within 24 hours of the request. Interlibrary Loan requests will also be delivered via Mikkelsen Express. Faculty/staff may also return items (ILLs, media, books etc.) to the designated space in their academic building for retrieval by library staff. This service is available Monday through Friday.
The library welcomes recommendations from faculty regarding acquisitions of materials. Faculty should contact their departmental liaison.

After the Proctor Request Form has been received, students can arrange the test time by e-mailing firstname.lastname@example.org Students may not begin an exam within 90 minutes of the library closing. Check library hours.
All full and part time employees of Augustana, Sioux Falls Seminary, and the South Dakota ELCA Synod have borrowing privileges at the Mikkelsen Library. All Augustana and Sioux Falls Seminary employees may check out media (videocassettes and DVDs, etc.) for 3 weeks.
