American Memory provides free and open access to written and spoken words, sound recordings, still and moving images, prints, maps, and sheet music that document the American experience. It is a digital record of American history and creativity. These materials, from the collections of the Library of Congress and other institutions, chronicle historical events, people, places, and ideas that continue to shape America, serving the public as a resource for education and lifelong learning.
ARTstor is a nonprofit digital library of more than one million images in the arts, architecture, humanities, and social sciences with a suite of software tools to view, present, and manage images for research and teaching purposes.
CAMIO—Catalog of Art Museum Images Online—is a premiere resource of works of art from around the world contributed and described by leading museums. Showcasing a wide range of fine and decorative art, CAMIO provides high-quality art images (approximately 95,000) for education, research and enjoyment. All content is rights-cleared for educational use.
Films On Demand is a web-based digital video delivery platform that allows viewers to access streaming videos from Films Media Group anytime, anywhere, 24/7. Films on Demand has 5,600 full length videos and 62,500 clips on all kinds of topics.
Each week Nature publishes a free audio show. It's hosted by Adam Rutherford and Kerri Smith and features reporters Geoff Brumfiel, Charlotte Stoddart and Natasha Gilbert. Every show features the best from the week's edition of Nature including interviews with the people behind the science, and in-depth commentary and analysis from journalists covering science around the world.
Naxos Music Library [NML] is the world's largest online classical music library with new CDs being added every month. It offers streaming access to CDs, as well as educational text resources including synopses of operas, a pronunciation guide for composer and artist names, a glossary of musical terms, work details and analyses for many major works, MENC-based music curriculum for grades K-12, music history audio books, and more. Among the labels whose catalogs are included in the service are BIS, Chandos, CPO, Haenssler, Hungaroton, Naïve, Marco Polo, Vanguard Classics, VOX and, of course, Naxos. World music content is provided by ARC, Celestial Harmonies and others; and there is also jazz and contemporary rock content.
