Augustana Professor Emeritus of English Sandra Looney has spent this past year teaching OLLI courses and traveling to Germany in the summer. Sandra has two married children. Anja and her husband, Chris, daughter, and son live in Kansas City. Aaron and his wife, Judith, two daughters and son, live in Germany.
Andrew Travers graduated from the University of Connecticut in Storrs. He went on to teach music and perform in the Las Vegas Philharmonic before moving with his family back to his hometown of Sioux Falls. He now teaches music and directs orchestra for the Sioux Falls school district and performs acoustic and electric cello under the name Phaedra.
Jesse Fonkert is the president and CEO of Sioux Metro Growth Alliance which serves the booming business growth in Minnehaha and Lincoln counties in South Dakota. Jesse graduated from Augustana in 2014 with a Political Science and Government and Business Administration major. He and his family live in Hartford.
Megan Raposa earned her degree from Augustana in Journalism, Business Administration, and Communications in 2015. In her senior year she won the Covenant Award for Excellence. After graduating she stayed in Sioux Falls where she wrote for the Argus Leader. In 2021 she founded Sioux Falls Simplified, a weekly newsletter that condenses Sioux Falls metro area news into news highlights.
Stephanie Peterson and her family live on farm near Brandon, South Dakota. She operates a wholesale egg business called Fruit of the Coop. She also serves on the Sioux Falls Food Council and Sioux Falls Thrive Food Security Action Team. Stephanie holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Government & International Affairs and in Norwegian Language from Augustana University.
Professor Emeritus of Special Education at Augustana, Larry Brendtro has dedicated his career to teaching and counseling at-risk youth. He graduated from Augustana with a degree in Sociology and Social work with a teaching certification. He is the former president of Starr Commonwealth, co-founder of the Circle of Courage Resilience Model, and he is now the director of Resilience Resources. He lives in Lennox with his wife.
Owner of Scurfpea Publishing L.L.C., Steve Boint enjoys writing poetry and publishing poetry short stories, theological writings. In 2001 he earned his M.A. in Science and Education at Augustana and he taught chemistry and astronomy for many years before founding his publishing company. Steve lives in Sioux Falls with his wife.
