FYSM Student Learning Outcomes

Students will demonstrate information literacy competencies, including 

• identifying and using appropriate library and information resources;
• assessing sources’ credibility;
• attributing and citing the original ideas of others.

There are 2 components to the introduction of information literacy in FYSM. Both of these components are tailored to the topic of each course.

1. an interactive activity in Canvas to introduce the website, library catalog & foundational information literacy skills
2. a classroom session in the library to explore the building and services as well as introduction to general library databases
