Frithjof Tidemand-Johannessen (1916-1958) was a Norwegian artist and author renowned for his work in color woodcuts, liturgical art, including mosaics and stained-glass windows, and wrought iron. The Mikkelsen library houses a series of his woodcuts from a folio of 12 colored plates, published in 1953. Each plate represents a month of the year, with motifs reflecting the distinct regions of Norway - North, West. East, and South.
