Adrian (R.A.) Stokes (1854-1935) was an acclaimed English Impressionist painter, celebrated for his evocative landscapes. Along with his wife, renowned painter Marianne Stokes, he traveled extensively across Europe in search of inspiration. The couple was deeply committed to the "plein air" approach, a method of painting outdoors, allowing them to capture the natural beauty of the landscapes they portrayed directly from their surroundings.
