Liv Gulliksdotter Aamodt immigrated from Norway to Minnesota with her family in 1872.  She excelled in the Norwegian textile arts of weaving, knitting, quilting, and embroidery.  Three of her embroidered hardanger doilies have been gifted to the Mikkelsen Library by Sandra Looney and are on display near the Norwegian Room on the lower level.
